Kala Beauvais becomes first female Republican District Attorney for the 10th Judicial District in Pueblo County

PUEBLO, CO – November 5, 2024 - Pueblo County has elected Kala Beauvais as its next District Attorney, making history as the first woman to hold this position. She is also the first Republican to hold this office since Wesley Kettlekamp took the office in 1952.

Following a closely watched race that underscored her deep ties to the community and dedication to public safety, Beauvais brings over a decade of legal expertise to the office, having served as the Chief Trial Deputy at the Pueblo District Attorney’s Office.

“I am honored and humbled by the trust Pueblo County has placed in me,” said Beauvais. “I’ve dedicated my career to fighting for justice in this community, and as District Attorney, I am committed to continuing that work—ensuring that every voice is heard, and every case receives the attention it deserves. Beauvais’ victory is a testament to her extensive experience and local roots. Throughout her campaign, she emphasized her deep connection to Pueblo and her unwavering dedication to keeping the community safe, earning the endorsement of law enforcement officials and community leaders alike.

As District Attorney, Beauvais plans to focus on justice for victims and their families, ensuring fair trials and prioritizing cases that impact public safety.
